Liverpool 'will sell Shaqiri for £12m' after reported bid - pundit
Paul Robinson has backed Liverpool to secure a £12million deal for Xherdan Shaqiri after a reported bid from Lyon.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs man suggested a deal for the winger would be best for both parties.
The Athletic reported on Monday (9th August) that Lyon have tabled an offer significantly below Liverpool’s £12million asking price.
Liverpool reportedly have the option of extending the winger’s current terms, which expire next summer, until 2023.
As such, the Reds are said to be sticking to their guns over their valuation of the 29-year-old.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to build transfer funds to bolster his squad for the upcoming season.

Robinson thinks a £12million deal likely due to the circumstances both parties find themselves in.
He told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “There’s a deal to be done for him somewhere.
“Shaqiri is a player who wants to leave and go somewhere where he can play regularly.
“Liverpool are a club who need to sell and get funds in order to do a deal themselves.
“That isn’t a hard deal to do, and that is a deal which will be done for around that (£12million) figure.“
Shaqiri joined Liverpool in 2018 for £13.5million and has made 63 appearances, scoring eight goals.
The Swiss star has been joined by Divock Origi as players deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield.
