Liverpool have serious cause for concern after Rio Ngumoha's Bayern Munich 'agreement'
Liverpool should be seriously worried about where Rio Ngumoha's commitment lies ahead of the upcoming transfer window after reportedly agreeing to join a rival club.
If reports are to be believed, Bayern Munich reached an agreement with the 17-year-old before the Reds stopped the Bundesliga club in their tracks.
The young Englishman has had a breakout season at the Merseyside outfit after scoring two goals and providing one assist in 19 Premier League appearances.
Ngumoha's negotiations with Bayern should be a cause for concern at Anfield, as it showcases that the young winger is open to leaving L4.
The forward's apparent lack of loyalty to the Reds raises doubts over whether the club are handling his development the right way.
Liverpool pull plug on Rio Ngumoha exit
According to Florian Plettenberg on 5 June, Bayern reached a full verbal agreement with Ngumoha and his entourage towards the end of last month.
It has been claimed that Vincent Kompany held personal discussions with the young winger and approved his move to the Allianz Arena.
Plettenberg revealed that the England youth international is a priority for the German side as backup for Luis Diaz, but a possible deal has collapsed.
Ngumoha signed his first professional deal at Anfield in September 2025, tying him down to the Merseyside outfit until June 2028.
Rio Ngumoha to thrive at Anfield after latest development
Sources told Football Insider in April that Liverpool were ready to reject any loan offers for Ngumoha in the summer.
The Reds clearly rate their youngster very highly and his prospects will surely only get better after Andoni Iraola's appointment in L4, with the Spanish manager known for developing young talent at Bournemouth.
In the 43-year-old head coach, Ngumoha has someone who will undoubtedly give him the opportunities he deserves despite his tender age.
Fans in L4 wanted to see Arne Slot rely more on the winger during the 2025-26 campaign after some of his mesmerising displays, but the Dutch boss was reluctant to do so.
Iraola seems like the perfect manager for Ngumoha and he should put any ideas about leaving the Merseyside outfit on the back burner as his time to shine is arguably on the horizon.
