RB Leipzig will be raising Yan Diomande's valuation after his standout World Cup debut, with Liverpool among the clubs watching closely.

Diomande played the full 90 minutes as the Ivory Coast overcame Ecuador 1-0 thanks to a late Amad Diallo goal.

The forward has long been on Liverpool's radar to replace Mohamed Salah, who left Anfield at the end of the season.

RB Leipzig are currently asking for around £87million to consider selling the 19-year-old after only one season in Germany, but that figure could reach nearer to £100m after the World Cup.

Diomande registered 12 goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga this season, marking a strong breakthrough season for the teenager.

Liverpool have the finances to agree a deal, but they are also monitoring other targets like PSG forward Bradley Barcola, who could be a cheaper alternative.

Yan Diomande showcases Liverpool potential

Diomande reminded Liverpool why new manager Andoni Iraola should be pushing the club to get a deal over the line.

Against an Ecuador defence who only conceded five goals in qualifying, Diomande certainly stole the show.

Successfully completing four of his seven dribbles, and making 15 progressive carries, Diomande was not afraid to take on his full-back.

Diomande had the most touches of any player in the opposition box, made five key passes and created one big chance.

Defensively, Diomande won 11 of his 15 duels, made two interceptions and made five recoveries.

Sources told Football Insider that Liverpool could also target his RB Leipzig teammate Antonio Nusa this summer, but based off his World Cup performance, Diomande should be a high priority for the Reds.

Another test awaits Yan Diomande

Diomande won player of the match for his performance, a display which could trigger further interest in his signature.

Liverpool may need to get a deal quickly wrapped up when Ivory Coast's participation at the World Cup ends.

Iraola could have been nothing but impressed watching Diomande against Ecuador, who terrorised Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie at left back.

Diomande is next in action in the World Cup against Germany, another game which Iraola is bound to be watching closely.
