Liverpool 'set sights' on Kevin Schade after transfer mission

Liverpool are plotting a move to sign Brentford star Kevin Schade after being impressed by his recent performances.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the new season under Keith Andrews, where he has scored three goals and provided one assists in five Premier League games.

Performances like his two-goal display against Bournemouth earlier this month are believed to have alerted his suitors, with Liverpool firmly among them.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool have had scouts tracking Schade's performances and have been impressed by what they've seen.

The Germany international's direct style and ability to play on both sides of the front line, as well as through the middle if needed, are believed to have placed him on the Reds' radar.

Liverpool are not the only club interested, but could be tempted to make a move in the January transfer window as they continue to seek additional depth for their front line.

Could Liverpool make a move for Kevin Schade?

Football Insider reported on 26 September that both Liverpool and Arsenal are strong admirers of Schade and have been impressed by his start to the season.

Andoni Iraola has been keen to add new wide men to his squad since the summer window, when he targeted Premier League players including Ismaila Sarr and Yankuba Minteh.

Schade is now the next player on the list, and if he continues to perform, Liverpool could be tempted to make a move sooner rather than later.

"Schade is a very good player and he's showing that for Brentford at the moment," Brown told Football Insider.

"He's a goalscorer, and they're not always easy to find at the moment, especially if you're looking for somebody who is suited to the Premier League and this level of football.

"So it comes as no surprise that Liverpool are keen on him, I expect they will have had scouts watching him closely at his last few games.

"He's very direct, physical, quick, very good on the ball, and like I say, he's got an eye for goal, so that ticks a number of boxes as the type of player Liverpool are looking for.

"Liverpool want to strengthen out wide, so if he continues to play at a high level, there is no reason why they couldn't make a move for him."

How do Brentford feel about losing Schade?

Despite the ongoing speculation about Schade's future amid interest from both Liverpool and Arsenal, much will depend on whether Brentford are willing to let him go.

The Germany forward has become a key player under Andrews in recent months, and his strong start to the season has been key to Brentford's early-season form.

However, Brown told Football Insider earlier this year that Brentford could consider cashing in on Schade if the right offer arrives due to their recruitment policy.

The Bees have never stood in their players' way when bigger clubs have come in for them, providing the fee has been right, and that is unlikely to change now.

Should any interested club come up with a huge offer in the near future, it will be considered, and Schade could potentially be made available.
