Liverpool cannot now start Alexander Isak in clash vs Bournemouth
Liverpool would do well not to start Alexander Isak for their upcoming clash against Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Reds are set to travel to the Vitality Stadium to seek their second Premier League victory of the campaign.
However, Andoni Iraola would do well to keep Isak on the bench for the fixture given his record against the Cherries.
The striker has scored in three of Liverpool’s four Premier League matches this season, and has been one of their most clinical players.
Now, Liverpool will have a considerably better chance of victory on Sunday if Isak remains out of the starting XI.
What is Alexander Isak’s record vs Bournemouth?
Isak has often been poor when he has faced Bournemouth.
Overall, he has played against the Cherries four times, which has resulted in just one goal and zero assists.
On top of this, Isak has never beaten Bournemouth when he has played them, losing three times and drawing once.
Therefore, this, combined with his recent display against Fulham, shows why Iraola should keep him on the bench.
Liverpool have plenty of other attacking options who are capable of picking up the three points.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Iraola will choose to keep Isak on the bench for the game.
What is Liverpool’s recent record vs Bournemouth?
In recent years, Liverpool have had a superb record against Bournemouth and will no doubt be favourites going into the clash.
In their last seven meetings, the Reds have won six of them, with the Cherries winning the other.
However, Bournemouth did win their last clash as they came out as 3-2 victors at the Vitality Stadium back in January.
Nevertheless, given that Iraola masterminded this victory for the Cherries, Liverpool will be hoping that he can pull off a similar victory for the visitors this Sunday.
However, it remains to be seen who will come out on top in the Premier League fixture as both teams look to take all three points from the clash.
