Mohamed Salah is set to receive offers from a number of MLS clubs looking to keep him in America after his exit from Liverpool.

The 34-year-old has spent the last few weeks in the USA with Egypt, before they were eventually knocked out of the World Cup in dramatic fashion against Lionel Messi's Argentina.

However, he could now be tempted to join the greatest player of all time in making the permanent switch to the MLS, with clubs believed to be preparing offers.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, clubs are hopeful that after enjoying his time in the USA at the World Cup, he could decide to stick around.

Salah is now officially a free agent after leaving Liverpool on 30 June, and the discussions over his future are expected to ramp up, with his focus no longer on Egypt.

He is expected to consider a number of offers from clubs in Europe, America and Saudi Arabia, with MLS clubs growing in confidence he can be convinced.

Could Mohamed Salah move to the MLS?

Football Insider first revealed in March that MLS clubs are keen to lure Salah to the USA where he could be tempted to follow in the footsteps of Messi.

The legendary Argentina forward has enjoyed plenty of success since making the switch, and Salah may believe he can replicate that by joining him in the USA.

Clubs are hopeful of landing what would be another marquee signing, with Robert Lewandowski already having made the switch when he joined Chicago Fire earlier this summer.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Obviously now that Mo Salah is not concentrating on the World Cup, that will probably speed things up, with regards to his future.

"There's nothing set in stone, there hasn't been a massive chance since he left Liverpool at the end of the season.

"There's interest from some MLS clubs as well who would like to make him their latest marquee signing this summer.

"They believe Salah has enjoyed his football over in the United States during the World Cup, and maybe that is something he would consider, making a permanent move.

"I would imagine in the next week or couple of weeks that things will become a lot more clear on where Mohamed Salah will continue his future."

Which other clubs are interested in signing Salah?

Despite a growing belief among the clubs that Salah could be tempted to make a permanent move to the MLS, they are far from the only ones aimnig to lure him in.

Saudi Pro League clubs have been most active in their interest, having initially tried to lure the Egypt international to the Middle East two seasons ago.

However, Football Insider revealed on 20 May that European giants AC Milan are interested in signing Salah and could make a move to beat Saudi clubs to his signature.

A return to Italy is seen as increasingly feasible for the 33-year-old winger, with it being far from nailed on that he will move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Salah loved his time in the Serie A with Fiorentina and Roma, and could be tempted to return to Italy with Milan despite what proved to be a poor season last time out.
