Alisson is set to stay at Liverpool for next season as Arne Slot does not want to let too many experienced stars leave the club in the same summer.

Mo Salah and Andy Robertson have each recently announced that they will be leaving Liverpool when their respective contracts expire in the summer.

With a big summer of change ahead, Alisson has also been linked with an exit after struggling for form and fitness this season.

He still has another year left on his contract though, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Slot does not want him to leave due to the impact that another older player leaving could have on his dressing room.

Liverpool’s transfer plans are not set to involve signing a new goalkeeper in the hope that Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili can properly compete to be number one next season.

Juventus and Inter Milan have each been linked with a move for the 33-year-old, with reports claiming that a sale is possible despite Liverpool recently triggering a one-year extension to his contract.

Reds captain Virgil van Dijk recently admitted that Alisson leaving would be a "big blow" to the club's plans for next season, and they do not want him to depart just yet.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "With losing the likes of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, they (Liverpool) won't want to lose another experienced player in the same window.

"Virgil van Dijk has come out and said it would be a big blow to lose Alisson, and he hopes he stays as well."

Liverpool want to sign Sporting defender Goncalo Inacio

Liverpool will need to make improvements to their backline in the summer to better protect either Alisson or Mamardashvili between the sticks next term.

Joe Gomez has been linked with an exit, while Ibrahima Konate is yet to sign a new contract, with sources exclusively telling Football Insider that Liverpool are interested in Sporting's Inacio.

The Portuguese international centre-back has made 42 appearances across all competitions so far this season and has a £52million release clause written into his current contract.

Real Madrid are also believed to be keeping tabs on his availability ahead of the summer window.
