Liverpool are working on signing either Yankuba Minteh or Ismaila Sarr before the window shuts, sources have told Football Insider.

Deals for both the Brighton and Hove Albion star and the Crystal Palace winger are still alive, despite some reports that they have collapsed.

Cody Gakpo’s £85million deal to move to Manchester City is dependent on the Reds signing either Minteh or Sarr before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday night.

Liverpool have already seen two bids turned down for Minteh this summer, with the last one being worth £60m.

Crystal Palace have also rejected a £50m offer for Sarr, with the club keen to keep hold of the 28-year-old ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

Andoni Iraola’s side have been eyeing multiple winger additions this summer, and are set to complete a £123m deal for Bradley Barcola before the transfer window closes.

What are Yankuba Minteh’s stats?

Liverpool face a race to complete a deal for either Minteh or Sarr before Tuesday’s 11pm deadline.

Both players have their clear strengths in the Premier League, but also weaknesses.

When examining Minteh in the top-flight last season, Fotmob on 31 August believes that the 22-year-old was averaging 0.11 goals, a 0.14 xG, 1.54 shots, 0.41 shots on target, 0.15 assists, a 0.19 xA, 1.65 chances created, 0.41 big chances created and 2.44 successful dribbles with a 53.7 per cent overall success rate per 90 minutes.

Therefore, while the winger is a solid creative attacker, he can struggle to get on the scoresheet.

How do Minteh’s stats compare to Ismaila Sarr’s?

In comparison, Sarr has proven himself to be a goalscoring winger in the Premier League in recent years, but he does struggle to create chances for his teammates.

According to Fotmob, in the Premier League last season, he averaged 0.37 goals, a 0.45 xG, 1.99 shots, 0.87 shots on target, 0.04 assists, a 0.05 xA, 0.79 chances created, 0.12 big chances created and 0.45 successful dribbles with a 35.5 per cent overall success rate per 90 minutes.

Therefore, it is clear that both Minteh and Sarr are completely different players out wide, and will both offer something different to Liverpool.

However, it remains to be seen who the Reds prioritise in the final two days of the transfer window.
