Michael Brown claims that Jose Mourinho will already have new signings lined up despite the Tottenham manager suggesting transfers have taken a back seat at the club.

The former Spurs midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists it would be a “load of rubbish” to think the Portuguese boss was not prepared with his “unbelievable experience” in football.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mourinho stated that the club “are not thinking about” transfers at the moment and that there had been “no talks” over who the club might target this summer.

However, Brown believes Mourinho will have already written up an amended list of targets with chairman Daniel Levy ahead of the summer transfer window.

Brown told Football Insider: “If you don’t think he’s already got a list together then that’s a load of rubbish.

“He’s got a list, he understands it. Jose Mourinho has unbelievable experience, as has Daniel Levy.

“They know the market, the ins and outs very, very well and I’m sure they’ll have everything under control to the best of their abilities that they can at that football club.”

Tottenham currently sit eighth in the table and will resume their Premier League season with a home tie against Manchester United on 19 June.

Mourinho could have the likes of Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Heung-min Son to call upon after their return to fitness after injury.

In other Tottenham news, a ‘top-class’ player has been tipped to quit the club in the coming weeks.
