Leeds fans react on Twitter as starlet scores first English goal
By Will Butcher
Leeds fans are delighted on Twitter for Lee Erwin, after the rangy striker scored in Oldham’s 3-2 loss to Shrewsbury on Saturday afternoon.
The 22-year-old Scot has struggled to adapt to the rigours of the English game following his move down south, and has been loaned out by manager Garry Monk in order to reignite his goalscoring form.
Erwin, who has four caps for Scotland’s Under-19 side, coolly finished after the ball fell to the target man inside the penalty area. It’s his first goal in English football.
82’ GOAL! The corner into the box falls perfectly for the striker and he makes no mistake from 10 yards. 2-3! Come on Latics!

Erwin was considered one of Scotland’s brightest prospects after scoring eight goals in 11 games for Arbroath during a loan spell, before breaking into the Motherwell side.
The forward signed for Leeds last summer, but has failed to make an impact. A loan move to Bury was next for Erwin, but he made just three appearances for the Shakers.

Leeds fans are delighted that Erwin has found the back of the net, which is his first goal since May 2015 and hope that he can put together a run of form that will help him contribute to Garry Monk’s side.
