QPR are readying an offer for young Tottenham defender Jonathan Dinzeyi as they look to raid the Premier League giants once again, Football Insider has learned.
The west London outfit have a recent history of taking top young talent from north London, with winger Jack Clarke and midfielder Luke Amos currently on loan to Mark Warburton’s side.
A QPR source has told Football Insider that the club are preparing to make a permanent move for Dinzeyi after he headed in for a trial stint.
The centre-back, 20, helped QPR Under-23s to a 2-0 win against Coventry City on Monday, opening the scoring after 11 minutes and helping his side to a clean sheet.
Warburton and the Championship club’s coaches will continue to have a good look at Dinzeyi as they weigh up offering him a permanent contract.
The youngster’s deal at Tottenham expires at the end of the season and the club may be willing to let him go.
Capped by England at Under-18 level, Dinzeyi is a centre-back of real pedigree.
He has made 25 appearances for Tottenham at Under-23 level as well as a further 35 for their Under-18s.
Dinzeyi was once the regular centre-back partner of Japhet Tanganga, who has impressed for Spurs since being promoted to their first team in recent weeks.
In addition to Clarke and Amos, QPR also signed 22-year-old Charlie Owens from the Premier League giants in 2017.
They also failed with a bid to sign Troy Parrott on loan last week as Tottenham decided to hang on to the striker.
