Pochettino delivers one-word verdict on Tottenham performance after win v Man United
By Matt Bullin
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has hailed his side’s performance as “perfect” following their 2-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The victory came courtesy of goals from Victor Wanyama and Harry Kane, before Wayne Rooney pulled one back with 20 minutes left to play.
The result meant Pochettino’s side confirmed their second-place finish, while a top-four finish is now mathematically impossible for United.
It has been a successful season for the North London club, which has also seen them reach an FA Cup final, and they will finish above their rivals, Arsenal, for the first time in 22 years.
An emotional Pochettino hailed his side’s performance after the match.

Talking on Sky Sports Super Sunday after the game, Pochettino said: “It was a perfect performance and I am happy for the victory for our fans – it was a fantastic victory which the fans deserved.
“We had the control of the game and played better. It was another great performance at White Hart Lane and now we have to focus on the last two games.
“It is great to achieve second position and it is fantastic for us. We have been unbeaten at home all season so there are a lot of things to be happy about.”
The Argentine has been Spurs boss since May 2014 and has another two years on his contract.
The match was an emotional affair given it was the final ever match to be played at Spurs’ White Hart Lane, with the club moving to Wembley next season while their new stadium is built.
The ground had been the club’s home for 118 years and a ‘legends parade’ followed the match.
