Luis Diaz tipped to reach new heights after 'incredible' Liverpool reveal - Campbell

Kevin Campbell has tipped Liverpool winger Luis Diaz to go up another gear once he’s improved his English.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the Premier League needs to “watch out” for the 25-year-old once he betters his communication.

Diaz has excelled since signing for the Reds in a £49million deal from FC Porto in January.

However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp decided not to start the Colombian in Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City.

The January signing entered the field with 20 minutes to play after Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah were given the nod to start.

Speaking to BT Sport, as quoted by Anfield Watch (4 April), Klopp hailed the “incredible” Diaz and revealed the player already “feels at home.”

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Diaz’s form, Campbell said:

“It is difficult for players coming to a new club and a new country when you don’t speak the language.

“It helps coming to a good environment though. That Liverpool dressing room is a great environment. They have a winners mentality and it is a close-knit group. When you come into that atmosphere it is easy to hit the ground running and he has.

“He has given the club a lift when they really needed it. Everybody watch out when he learns English because his communication will be a lot better.”
