Alisher Usmanov could one day formally invest in Everton and take the club to the “next level.”

That is according to finance guru and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively after Everton announced a partnership with MY.GAMES.

The gaming brand is owned by, a conglomerate in which Usmanov’s holding company USM is an indirect shareholder.

Maguire has previously told Football Insider about the close relationship Usmanov and Everton owner Farhad Moshiri enjoy.

According to Forbes, Moshiri is worth approximately £2.1billion while Usmanov is worth over 12 times that at £25.7bn.

And Maguire claims that it is not out of the question that Usmanov might one day formalise his investment in the club.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I think at present, he’s very happy with the relationship he has with Farhad Moshiri and the money being invested in the club.

“There’s no doubt at a future time, if Farhad Moshiri needed additional equity investment then Usmanov would be his first port of call.

“They have worked together, they know each other well, they understand each other.

“It’s a case of Moshiri being quite happy as majority owner to the extent that he is at the moment, but never say never in business.

“He could be the person to take them to the next level in due course.

“Moshiri is wealthy but we have high net worth individuals and then ultra-high net worth individuals. Usmanov is in the latter camp.”

Moshiri owns 99.2 per cent of Everton after purchasing additional equity in a recent share purchase.

The club posted a £139.9million loss in their last annual report.
