Man City are expected to continue making signings during the January transfer window as Pep Guardiola looks to strengthen his squad.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson revealed that he thinks the board have “backed him with investment” during this month.

The defending Premier League champions have already spent over £100million in the January transfer window by signing Vitor Reis, Omar Marmoush, and Abdukodir Khusanov.

It has been an underwhelming season for City so far with the club sitting fifth in the Premier League table, and that has led to Guardiola pushing the board to help him strengthen his squad again.

The Premier League giants are also monitoring the possibility of signing Joshua Kimmich as Guardiola looks to replace Rodri due to his season-long injury.

Man City are going to continue making signings

“He's shown the board, the ownership of what's needed and they've backed him with investment and they've backed him heavily,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“This is the biggest that we've seen Manchester City go in, in January.

“I don't think they're finished.

“They're making statements, they're making some big signings.”
