Man City backed to seal free transfer for Toni Kroos after 'brilliant' report - pundit
Paul Robinson has claimed it would be “a no-brainer” for Man City to sign Toni Kroos on a free transfer next summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 32-year-old would be a “brilliant” signing even though “he is the wrong side of thirty.”
According to Spanish outlet El Nacional (6 September), Pep Guardiola’s side are interested in signing Kroos next year.
The centre-midfielder has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Bernabeu and is yet to indicate to Florentino Perez if he wants to renew and stay.
City could start negotiations with Kroos over a free transfer in January.
The Premier League champions bolstered their midfield department this summer with the addition of Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United.

When asked by Football Insider if Kroos would be a welcome addition at the Etihad next year, Robinson said: “That would be a no-brainer.
“He would be a great addition to any squad. He brings so much experience and quality.
“Yes, he is the wrong side of thirty but he will be going to a team that is competing in the Champions League. There is going to be a host of clubs after him I’m sure.
“Somebody is going to benefit from having a brilliant player next year.”
Kroos has made five appearances for Los Blancos this season.
He impressed in a 3-0 win at Celtic Park on Tuesday.
