Paul Robinson has claimed it would be "a huge blow" to Man City if Rodri left in the summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 26-year-old is "the complete footballer" and "makes the game look so easy."

Rodri has been one of Man City's standout players in recent seasons.

Barcelona are understood to be interested in the centre-midfielder as they look for the long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets.

Rodri's contract at the Etihad runs until the end of June 2027.

When asked by Football Insider if Pep Guardiola's side could cope with the midfielder's exit, Robinson said: “It would be a huge blow for Man City if Rodri was to leave.

"They would miss him dearly.

"He has been a Rolls-Royce in that Man City midfield over the past few seasons. He has been the perfect replacement for Fernandinho.

"Rodri is my favourite player to watch in the Premier League. He is the complete footballer for me. He makes the game look so easy. His fitness level, his energy… He imposes himself on games. He keeps that City side ticking.

"I just think he is amazing. They would struggle to replace him if he left.”
