Pep Guardiola will be left delighted at what former Man City captain and current Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has said about Said El Mala.

Man City are monitoring FC Koln winger Said El Mala, with Guardiola "impressed" with what he has seen from the 19-year-old so far.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United are also interested in El Mala.

Man City are currently in a title race with Arsenal in the Premier League, with a four-point gap between the sides as they return from the international break.

Vincent Kompany wowed by Said El Mala

Bayern Munich boss Kompany has come up against El Mala in the Bundesliga this season, and the Belgian only had praise for the teenager.

As per Goal, Kompany said: "This kid has this initial acceleration and then a second burst of speed. That surprises many defenders.

He can shoot from that high speed. That feeling of being inactive and then suddenly launching a full-scale counter-attack is, of course, a quality you can use throughout your entire career.”

Pep Guardiola transfer plans

Man City are also interested in Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento as Guardiola looks to poach some of Europe's top young talents to his squad.

However, 19-year-old Man City star Claudio Echeverri may be recalled from his loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen due to a lack of game time.

Guardiola sees Echeverri as a future first-team player, and the midfielder may be sent elsewhere in the January transfer window to aid his development.
