Man City have 'huge' advantage in race to sign Jude Bellingham after journalist's reveal - pundit

Paul Robinson has claimed Man City striker Erling Haaland will be a “huge draw” for Jude Bellingham next summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs number one suggested Bellingham, 19, would like to play with his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Haaland, 22, at the Etihad.

Bellingham is attracting the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs this season.

According to The Sun‘s Phil Thomas (24 September), the centre-midfielder is very close friends with Haaland.

Man City’s star striker is said to have told Bellingham how much he is enjoying life under Pep Guardiola.

When asked if Haaland could prove decisive in the race to sign Bellingham, Robinson told Football Insider: “Regardless of whether you have played with him or not, Haaland is going to be a huge draw for any player.

“Look at the way City have started the season, the manager they have and the squad they have got, who wouldn’t be interested in signing for them?

“Haaland is just another huge draw for a player to join the club. He is probably the world’s best striker at the moment. Bellingham will be attracted to that.

“I have been impressed with Bellingham in a more advance role and if he had Rodri alongside him he would have license to roam. Bellingham is best for Dortmund when he’s played as an advanced eight breaking the lines. He has defensive qualities but he is better higher up the field.”
