Pundit wishes 'good luck' to Jack Grealish after Man City news

Kevin Campbell has backed Man City midfielder Jack Grealish over his prospective seven-figure deal with Gucci.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker insisted there is “no problem” with the 26-year-old signing deals outside of football so long as it doesn’t effect his performance.

As reported by The Athletic‘s David Ornstein (4 April), Grealish is set to sign a major endorsement contract with fashion giants Gucci.

The deal that will see the England international become a brand ambassador for the Italian company is said to worth seven figures.

Writing in The Sun (8 April), West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady compared Grealish to ex-Man United and England star David Beckham.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his reaction to the news, Campbell said: “Listen, it’s outside of football.

“It is not impacting on his football though. I am not too bothered about it to be honest with you. Good luck to him. Go and enjoy it.

“If he can make some extra money outside of football good on him. Too much gets made of what footballers do outside of the game.

“As long as it doesn’t effect his performances for Man City, which I’m sure it won’t, there’s no problem.”

Grealish moved to Manchester City in a £100million deal last summer.

He has contributed four goals and three assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.

In other news, a pundit has claimed this is Guardiola’s ‘biggest problem’ at Man City amid an ‘unhappy’ claim from Phil Foden.
