Man City would accept a bid in excess of £40million for goalkeeper Ederson in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 June) that City "won't stand in the way" of what would be a surprise move for the 30-year-old.

The club are seriously considering selling Ederson - who is interested in pursuing a new challenge away from the Etihad Stadium.

He is the subject of strong interest in Saudi Arabia, with the Brazil international now seriously considering a potential switch to the Middle East.

Ederson has been the number-one choice for Pep Guardiola's history-making side for seven years after joining from Benfica in 2017.

But sources say City feel well-equipped between the sticks following the emergence of Stefan Ortega as a viable goalkeeping option in the 2023-24 campaign.

Ortega stepped in for 20 games in the 2023-24 campaign, keeping eight clean sheets and conceding 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Ederson made 43 appearances across all competitions - notching 16 clean sheets and conceding 34 goals.

The Brazil international won't play in this summer's Copa America with his country after fracturing his eye socket in the late stages of the season.

Guardiola won his sixth Premier League title with City this term - and Ederson has been a key part of each success.

The pair have also won the Champions League, four League Cups and two FA Cups together.
