Erling Haaland currently has no plans to leave Man City amid widespread links with Spanish giants Real Madrid, sources have told Football Insider.

Spanish media have reported that the 23-year-old feels he has to leave City if he is to be recognised as the world's best player - and is "unhappy" in Manchester.

Manager Pep Guardiola has since shrugged off those reports, insisting "we don’t feel he’s unhappy" and "we can’t control what people say".

Haaland has more than three years remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium after arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that City have "no worries" about the talismanic striker leaving at this time.

It is believed the Norway international is happy playing under Guardiola's tutelage and has no plans to move on at present.

Haaland has recently returned to action after missing two months with a foot injury - but is still the joint-leader in the race for the Premier League's Golden Boot award with 14 strikes.

He has hit 19 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions this term after spearheading City's charge to a historic treble in the 2022-23 campaign.

The 23-year-old has managed 71 goals and 14 assists in 76 total games for Guardiola's side.

City sit third in the Premier League and are five points behind leaders Liverpool with two games in hand.
