Man United board can't believe news emerging from Tottenham - pundit
Man United board members will be gutted to see Antonio Conte announced as the new Tottenham manager.
That is the view of ex-Spurs and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 52-year-old‘s imminent appointment in north London.
As exclusively revealed by this site yesterday (November 1st), Conte is set to take training today after agreeing to become the new manager.
The Italian, who flew into London last night to finalise terms with Spurs, was known to be interested in replacing under-fire Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, it is the London club who will now be managed by the ex-Chelsea and Inter Milan boss.
When asked by Football Insider if United would be made to rue sticking with Solskjaer, Robinson said:

“I think there will be a few disappointed board members at Man United having missed out on Conte. They have missed out on one of the world’s best managers.
“At the end of the day though, they have stuck by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Were they really in the hunt for a new manager? They have been faithful to Ole and they have given him time.
“Every time he comes under massive scrutiny and pressure they produce a result. He has a knack of getting performances out of players.
“If United were looking for a manager, Conte would probably be top of the list. It was well known that he was interested in joining them. United have made their decision though and they will have to live and die by it.”
