Man United could seal 'cheap' Pau Torres deal after journalist's 'brilliant' update - pundit
Kevin Campbell has heaped praise on Villarreal defender Pau Torres amid reported interest from Man United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker said the Reds Devils will be watching the 25-year-old “very closely” against Liverpool in the Champions League.
According to Fabrizio Romano (26 April), Man United and Man City are interested in signing Torres ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Spain international is said to have a release clause in the region of £46million at Villarreal.
His contract with Unai Emery’s side runs until the end of June 2024.
Campbell, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV last season, claimed £46million represents good value for money.

“Torres is a brilliant player,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Clubs have been tracking him for a while and I’m sure he is getting watched very closely over these two legs with Liverpool.
“He’s done a great job at Villarreal at the heart of the defence. For £46million it is cheap money. When you look at the bigger picture it is a good deal for a quality centre-half.
“I think he’d be a good signing for United. They need a revamp this summer and if they are going to let a couple go they need another centre-half in. Torres would be a solid choice.”
Torres has been on of Villarreal’s standout players this season.
He has made 41 appearances across all competitions.
