Man United fans have been left raging at VAR after a new angle of Bruno Fernandes' red card v Tottenham emerged on social media.

Erik ten Hag's side were defeated 3-0 at Old Trafford as Tottenham took all three points thanks to goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke.

However, it was Fernandes' red card shortly before half-time which emerged as the major talking point from the game, as fans could not believe the decision.

As James Maddison skipped past him on the counter, the 30-year-old slipped while making a challenge as he clipped his opponent's knee.

Referee Chris Kavanagh and VAR official Peter Bankes determined that the foul was "serious foul play", judging that his studs had collided with Maddison.

However, a new angle shared on social media by United fans appears to show that the studs did not make contact, and that the foul was more of a trip than a studs-up challenge.

However, plenty are insisting he should not have been sent off for the challenge and have been left raging at VAR and the refereeing team.

Taking to social media in reaction to the incident, fans have labelled his red card "outrageous" and "a disgrace", insisting that "the game is gone".
