Man United fans are thrilled by Ruben Amorim’s decision to step in and block an expected outgoing transfer in this window after what they saw during their recent FA Cup outing.

United secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday (12 January) by defeating Arsenal via a penalty shootout, and one player who caught people’s attention was 21-year-old Toby Collyer.

The youngster replaced Kobbie Mainoo in the 81st minute and played all of extra time in a performance that fans were impressed by.

However, it appears that United fans could end up seeing more from the defensive midfielder this season as he is not expected to be loaned out this January.

According to The Athletic, the club has no plans to loan Collyer out this month after unconvincing performances from Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

Ruben Amorim could hand more minutes to Toby Collyer

Collyer’s eye-catching performance in the FA Cup has led to Amorim looking to keep him around the squad, with more playing time expected in the remainder of the season.

The decision has proven to be a popular one with fans as supporters believe he will “develop more under Amorim.”
