Sources: Man United ready to beat Barcelona to Achraf Hakimi signing as talks held
Man United have turned their attention to signing Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, sources from the club have told Football Insider.
The Premier League giants are working on a deal to lure the 23-year-old as they look to sign a right-back before transfer window shuts.
United’s recruitment team and manager Erik ten Hag have made the capture of a top-class right-sided defender a key priority over the final 11 days of the window now they have all but sealed the marquee signing of Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.
But the embattled Premier League club face competition for Hakimi’s signature from Spanish giants Barcelona.
Hakimi is regarded as one of the best attacking full-backs in world football having played for Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan before his move to PSG last year.
The French giants fended off Chelsea and their £60million bid to pull off the capture of the Morocco international.
