Man United must heed Iliman Ndiaye red flag as 0% stat emerges from Everton defeat

Manchester United are reportedly interested in a move for Iliman Ndiaye this summer, but the Everton forward has some drawbacks.

The winger featured as the Toffees were beaten 2-1 by West Ham on Saturday, and failed to leave an impression on the game.

Ndiaye has been impressive for Everton this season, but decision-makers will not be willing to accept a cut-price figure.

The 26-year-old arrived from Marseille in 2024 in a deal worth around £15million, but the Toffees would likely be looking for at least quadruple that fee, if not far more.

Man United transfer chiefs are keen to back their next permanent managerial appointment this summer, but they may be having second thoughts if they were watching on Saturday.

Iliman Ndiaye fails to impress vs West Ham

Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Everton will not entertain offers for Ndiaye this summer, with the winger seen as a key part of David Moyes’ plans.

The 26-year-old appears to be happy at Hill Dickinson Stadium, but it remains to be seen how an arriving bid would change things.

Man United are said to be among those interested, with Premier League leaders Arsenal also linked in the past.

But scouts watching on as Everton were beaten by West Ham on Saturday would have seen some potential red flags in Ndiaye’s game.

The winger did not create a single chance or take a shot on goal against right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, and he managed to take only four touches in the opposition box.

His dribbling was impressive as always – Ndiaye completed four – but it was his end product that will have prompted concern among interested clubs.

The Senegal international did not complete any of his three attempted crosses and could not find the final ball in the key moments.

David Moyes clear on Ndiaye’s future

Moyes has been frequently asked about Ndiaye’s future this season, especially after it emerged that Inter Milan had a £40m bid rejected last summer.

The Scot was asked about the 26-year-old’s contract situation once again on Friday and snapped back.

“Three, because we’ve got an option as well,” he said, after a question had suggested Ndiaye had just two years left on his deal. “So no, there’s no [real concern]. Not worth the question you’re asking me.”

Unfortunately, Moyes may well have to get used to it ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer.
