Man United news: Pundit cites Harry Kane after Erik ten Hag's 'giant' reveal

Kevin Campbell is adamant Cristiano Ronaldo will be the main man for incoming Man United manager Erik ten Hag even if another striker is signed in the summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker claimed Ronaldo, 37, could even partner another centre-forward in a new-look system at Old Trafford.

Speaking to De Telegraaf (16 May), Erik ten Hag heaped praise on Ronaldo and insisted he has “wants to keep” the “giant” at the club next season.

The Portugal captain has enjoyed a prolific season for the Red Devils but doubts remain over his future as he enters the final year of his deal.

According to the Mirror (19 May), Ten Hag has told the Man United board he wishes to sign a new striker ‘at all costs’ this summer.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest, Campbell said: “Ten Hag might look to play two up top.

“Nobody is second-fiddle to Ronaldo. He is the marquee name.

“Let’s say United signed Harry Kane. Kane and Ronaldo could dovetail well.

“Kane has an all-round game. He could make another striker even better. He can help them with his passing and movement. His all-round game is very good.

“The way Spurs are going, would he go? Who knows.

“I don’t think another striker coming in would effect Ronaldo’s position at the club though.”

In other news, a pundit has claimed Man United could sign an ‘unbelievable’ Frenkie de Jong partner after journalist’s update.
