Man United news: Pundit verdict on Ralf Rangnick after controversial picture emerges - 'it'll never look right to fans'

Kevin Campbell fears Man United manager Ralf Rangnick’s trip to Barbados will be ill-received by fans.

However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker saw no wrongdoing from the 63-year-old and instead praised his impact at Old Trafford.

As pictured by Windies Cricket (19 March), Rangnick was in Barbados for England’s test match against the West Indies as the international break begins.

On Twitter (21 March), ex-United defender Gary Neville reacted angrily to the news and suggested it would not have been seen during his time at the club.

The Red Devils are set for another trophyless season after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid last week.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on Rangnick’s trip, Campbell said: “For some fans, it will never look right.

“Who knows if this was a commitment he had ages ago. These things are not normally booked on a whim. They tend to be booked months in advance and that was probably the case here.

“Look, it is what it is. Rangnick is the interim manager. United have not been doing great but he has helped steady the ship.

“Yes, they got knocked out of the Champions League but they were not expected to win it. For me, he’s doing his job. I do not read too much into it.”

In other news, Kieran Maguire has tipped Man United to rake it in through a plan that the ‘hardcore’ fans will hate.
