Kieran Maguire: Glazers could sell Man United for £3bn after official document reveal
The Glazers could conceivably sell Man United for up to £3billion – and that is thanks to the stellar work of the club’s directors.
That is the view of finance boffin Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s latest set of accounts.
Documents released by United on 20 September show that senior directors were paid £9.5million for the year ending June 2021.
That figure is down on the £10.5m which boardroom bigwigs pocketed over the previous annual accounting period.
The Glazers’ controversial reign at United began in 2005 when they first bought a controlling stake.
And Maguire insists that directors at Old Trafford have earned their salaries having boosted the club’s value in that time.

“It’s good value for money,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“The Glazers acquired the club for around about £750m. They could sell the club today for three-and-a-half times that.
“So we’re talking £2.5bn, maybe even £3bn. That is on the back of the work of the board, especially the commercial department.
“We won’t find out who has been the highest-paid director until the UK version of the accounts comes out.
“That won’t be for a few months, but the Glazers will be justifiably happy.”
United made a net loss of £92m in the pandemic-struck 2020-21 financial year but are expected to return to profit next year.
Chief executive Ed Woodward will leave his position at the end of 2021.
