Man United are poised to swoop for Lille centre-back Leny Yoro this summer.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that United are prepared to rival multiple clubs across Europe for the 18-year-old's signature.

Raphael Varane's exit upon the expiry of his contract at Old Trafford has left a space which Erik ten Hag is keen to fill with a younger option.

Varane was in and out of the starting lineup last season as he suffered from injury issues, starting just 16 Premier League games, but played a crucial role as United lifted the FA Cup.

Yoro, 18, has captured the attention of top clubs across Europe after his performances in Ligue 1, with 44 appearances in all competitions including experience in the Europa Conference League.

Scouts from United view him as a "generational talent" capable of being a "phenomenal" player at the top level.

His current contract at Lille is set to expire in 2025, placing interested clubs on red alert as they line up bids to secure the signing ahead of their rivals.

The France Under-21 international is said to be valued at around £50million.

Centre-back had become a problem position at Old Trafford towards the end of the season, with Casemiro asked to fill in, raising a new arrival as an early summer priority.

Man United's other options in defence include Lisandro Martinez, 26, Victor Lindelof, 29, and Harry Maguire, 31, while Jonny Evans, 36, remains in talks over a new deal.

At 18 years old, Yoro represents a younger option than his competition, with room to develop and grow his game under Ten Hag.
