Man United slammed by pundit after 'comical' Ralf Rangnick news - 'what a load of crap'

Ralf Rangnick can’t work for Man United and the Austria national team at the same time.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the German’s next move.

Man United confirmed on Friday (29 April), that Rangnick will take up the role as Austria’s manager at the end of the season.

It was also confirmed he will stay at Old Trafford in a consultancy role as announced when he joined the club earlier this summer.

McAvennie insists the 63-year-old should leave Man United if he wants to continue as a manager.

“So he claims he has time to work at Man United and for Austria? What a load of crap that is,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I think that’s a load of rubbish. You have to focus on one of them because the job that needs to happen at Manchester United is massive.

“The club is all over the place and now this guy who is meant to be overseeing things is off to manage someone else.

“I would have thought he would be given the boot by Manchester United after agreeing that.

“There is enough comical things happening at Manchester United, I can’t believe they have allowed that.

“I really didn’t see that happening.”

Erik ten Hag will become the new Manchester United manager in the summer.

He was announced as the club’s new boss on 21 April.
