Injury expert reveals when Cavani will make Man United comeback after analysing footage
Man United hitman Edinson Cavani could return to action in time for the busy Christmas period if his recovery goes to plan.
So says injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Cavani, 34, missed United’s 2-0 defeat to Man City before the international break with what was later revealed to be a tendon issue.
As quoted by United’s media team on 9 November, the Uruguayan revealed he had suffered a “bit of pain” with the “difficult injury” since August.
The centre-forward’s fitness issues have contributed to him having started just two of the Red Devils’ 16 matches this term.
But Dinnery is optimistic that a period of recuperation on the sidelines will leave Cavani fully recovered for the hectic festive period.

“Football is about risk and reward,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“When you’re looking at your senior players, they will be in consultation with the medical department all the time.
“If you ask any player, the majority will tell you they are struggling with some sort of knock.
“What matters is if you can manage the pain, or is that injury going to be exacerbated?
“Cavani wanted to be a part of that United squad, so he probably just wanted to try at the start of the season.
“But ultimately, when the games are coming thick and fast, it’s going to have a knock-on effect.
“If the injury is affecting your output, maybe it’s the right thing to do to take a step back and try and remedy it.
“Hopefully, with this treatment, he will be fully fit and ready to come back for the busy Christmas fixture period.”
