Sources: Man United submitting £25m Cody Gakpo take-it-or-leave-it bid today

Man United are submitting a £25million take-it-or-leave-it bid for PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo on Thursday (25 August), sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League giants have readied their offer for Gapko, 23, while also pursuing Ajax sensation Antony.

It is believed United’s offer for the PSV star will have no bearing on their attempts to land Antony.

Erik ten Hag has given the green light to a deal for Gakpo, who is represented by the same agency, SEG, as the United manager.

Gakpo, who is under contract at PSV until 2026, has enjoyed a strong start to 2022-23 with three goals and four assists in seven matches.

He was named Dutch Footballer of the Year in 2021-22 after netting 21 times and laying on 15 assists in 47 outings, helping PSV win the KNVB Cup along the way.

United’s pursuit of Gakpo may have been boosted following PSV’s elimination from the Champions League play-offs at the hands of Rangers last night (24 August).

The seven-time Netherlands international would represent the Red Devils’ third signing from Ten Hag’s homeland this summer, with Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia having already joined from Ajax and Feyenoord respectively.

Ajax academy product Christian Eriksen has also signed after six months at Brentford in 2021-22.

There was already a strong Dutch presence on the books prior to the current transfer window in Tahith Chong and Donny van de Beek.
