Man United to appoint Conte during 'next international break' - pundit

Man United will appoint Antonio Conte to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the next international break, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England captain claimed Man United will lose their next two Premier League games against Tottenham and Man City and Solskjaer will be sacked as a result.

The Reds have won just once in their last seven games across all competitions and had their misery compounded with a 5-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford at the weekend.

Fabrizio Romano reported today (October 26) Solskjaer will remain in charge for Saturday’s fixture and Sky Sports added he is safe for now.

United travel to Atalanta in the Champions League in between their next two Premier League games.

“He’s got until they negotiate with Conte,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“They’ll be negotiating with Conte now and once he agrees to take the job, Solskjaer will be out.

“Against Spurs, they could lose. Against Man City, they’ll lose. That international break is D-day for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to be honest.

“Once that international break starts, he will lose his job.

“It’s about time Man United have an elite manager and not one that is learning on the job.”

Solskjaer became the Man United boss in December 2018, initially on an interim basis after Jose Mourinho was sacked.

The Norweigan, 48, has a win rate of 55.49 per cent as United manager but is yet to win a trophy.
