Manchester United are working on a deal to exchange Romelu Lukaku for Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala in a stunning straight swap deal, Football Insider has learned.

The two clubs have already discussed the possibility of Lukaku moving to Turin for a £70million-plus fee and now Juventus have suggested that Argentine superstar Dybala heads the other way in a major development.

A United source has told Football Insider that Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer is a big admirer of Dybala and has given the green light for his club to pursue the deal in the final 10 days of the window.

Talks are scheduled for today between Dybala and the Juventus hierarchy as he tries to find out where he stands in the club’s plans for the forthcoming season.

Should the indications be that the 25-year-old is deemed not as crucial to the team under new boss Maurizio Sarri, that could pave the way for him to head out of Turin this summer.

Lukaku was omitted from the United squad for their pre-season friendly in Oslo tonight as speculation about his future at the club intensifies.

The Belgium international is eager to quit Old Trafford and move to Serie A, and would jump at the chance to join Juventus after his hopes of a transfer to Inter Milan appear dashed following a breakdown in negotiations.

Persuading Dybala to make the move to the Premier League giants, who will not compete in next season’s Champions League, could prove more difficult.

The 23-times Argentina international has been a key member of the serial-winning Juve side since joining from Palermo in the summer of 2015, scoring 78 goals and supplying 30 assists from 182 matches.

In other Man United news, it can be REVEALED that the 20-times league winners have been blown out of the water by Liverpool after they agreed deal to sign starlet.
