Ruben Amorim has left Man United fans desperately frustrated following a new decision on youngster Chido Obi-Martin.

The 17-year-old forward featured in the Red Devils' FA Cup clash against Fulham, and while the team were eventually knocked out on penalties, he brought a bright spark to the pitch.

Supporters are already favouring Obi-Martin over Rasmus Hojlund, who has netted just twice in the Premier League this season and continues to struggle as United's first-choice No.9.

Having replaced the Danish striker in the second half against the Cottagers, the youngster nearly made an immediate name for himself but was denied smartly by Fulham's eventual hero, Bernd Leno.

Unsurprisingly, fans at Old Trafford are already desperate to see Obi-Martin on the field again, with the Red Devils travelling to Spain to take on Real Sociedad on Thursday 6 March.

Richard Keys already believes Amorim has one eye on the Man United exit doors, and given the criticism and abuse he has received at Old Trafford, it would not at all be a surprise.

The manager has won just 10 of his 24 games in charge across all competitions since arriving from Sporting CP, but supporters were expecting a slow start with the squad currently at his disposal.

Despite all the frustration at performances by the Red Devils, there is still a chance of silverware this season, now fighting for a spot in the Europa League quarter-finals.

This is where a new fallout has emerged, however, with Amorim's recent admission on why youngster Obi-Martin has not been included in the Europa League squad.

Chido Obi-Martin left out of Europa League squad

With Amad sidelined until the end of the season, United are seriously lacking goals, especially with Marcus Rashford and Antony leaving on loan during the winter transfer window.

Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte are new players on the treatment table, leaving United with five empty spots on the bench against Sociedad instead of taking exciting youth players.

Explaining the decision to leave Obi-Martin out of the Europa League squad to the media, Amorim said: “It was a different context at that moment. It was completely different and we chose different players.”

That reason, of course, has not gone down well with the fanbase, with one saying to get Amorim out of the club "ASAP" while another called him "short-sighted".
