Man United are already working on selling Casemiro this summer after his shocking performances under Erik ten Hag in recent weeks.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that the club will look to recoup a transfer fee alongside getting his "huge" wages off of the books.

An injury crisis at Old Trafford has meant the 32-year-old defensive midfielder has been asked to fill in at centre-back during United's shocking run of just two wins in their last ten games.

Man United want to sell Casemiro this summer

Casemiro arrived at Old Trafford for a £70million transfer fee from Real Madrid in 2022, making 52 Premier League appearances over his two seasons in Manchester.

However, the club are now desperate to see him leave this summer as they undergo a transformation both on and off the pitch.

Ten Hag is expected to lose his job at the end of the season, while widespread backroom changes are afoot with Dan Ashworth likely to arrive as the director of football.

Freeing up the Brazilian's wages would allow them to invest after Football Insider sources revealed the club would have to sell to raise transfer funds.
