Man United and Chelsea could soon come to a transfer agreement this summer amid speculation over the futures of Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho.

While the Blues striker has remained an important part of the team over the last two seasons, his discipline on the pitch has raised questions over his self-control at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea players have discussed Jackson's possible sale this summer, and although Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens have all arrived, one of United's attackers is believed to still be on the wishlist.

One of five banned from returning to pre-season training by Ruben Amorim, Garnacho has gained a lot of interest since falling out with the manager over his perceived attitude and lack of respect.

Enzo Maresca may feel he has the capabilities to turn the 21-year-old winger into a world-beater, and these transfer links could see the two Premier League giants come to an agreement.

Alejandro Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson to swap places

According to iNews (16 July), while no bid has yet been launched by Man United for Jackson, the Red Devils are interested in the Senegalese international as they "desperately look to add firepower".

There is hope that a "knockdown" price can be agreed, with the Blues suddenly overloaded with forwards, but despite this, Chelsea remain interested in Garnacho, who is not allowed to return to pre-season training at Carrington.

The Argentine is attracting interest from Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Saudi Pro League clubs, but the possibility of a sort of swap deal has now emerged between United and Chelsea.

Although the Premier League sides would prefer straight player sales, especially the Red Devils with Garnacho in terms of PSR, one source has admitted that a swap deal could see both moves happen.

Football Insider verdict

Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia, Antony, and Jadon Sancho are all in the same situation as Garnacho, having returned from their respective loan clubs in the last few weeks.

Football Insider understands that Rashford's transfer saga could continue into the late stages of the summer window amid strong interest from Unai Emery's Villa and Barcelona.

Bringing Jackson into the squad is unlikely to solve many problems, especially after Maresca was told to send the Chelsea forward home from the Club World Cup after his sending-off against Flamengo.

Unlike Amorim, Maresca has been able to turn his fortunes around at Stamford Bridge, having been under pressure for much of last season before securing Champions League football and lifting two trophies.

The Blues were expected to win the Europa Conference League, especially with the talent within their squad, but having come up against PSG in the Club World Cup final, defeat was expected.

Maresca will now be expected to create even more success with the current squad, pushing up the Premier League table as well as competing in Europe, but it remains to be seen what his plan for Jackson is.
