Man United work on agreeing Marcus Rashford exit before his wages skyrocket
Manchester United want to agree a deal for Marcus Rashford to leave the club as soon as possible this summer before his wages increase upon qualification for the Champions League.
United’s improved form under Michael Carrick has seen them enter pole position to earn a place in the Champions League next season.
They currently sit third in the top flight, eight points clear of sixth-placed Brighton, so seem likely to return to Europe’s premier club competition after two seasons away.
Rashford is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, United want him off their wage books as soon as possible before his wages increase after UCL qualification.
Barcelona are stalling over a move for the England star, so quickly agreeing a deal when the transfer window opens would be a huge boost to Man United’s transfer plans.

Rashford has made it clear that he wants to stay at Camp Nou beyond this season, but the Catalan giants want to agree another loan deal rather than trigger his £26million option to buy clause.
United may have to agree to those conditions if they want the 28-year-old off their books as soon as possible to avoid a wage rise this summer.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Rashford would like to stay at the Camp Nou because he has regianed his best form this season.
“Look, if he’s not able to agree a deal at Barcelona, then he will have to go back to Manchester United.
“Obviously, United are more than happy to let him move on to get him off the wage bill this summer because his wages go up if they qualify for the Champions League.”
United could force Nottingham Forest into Morgan Gibbs-White sale
Gibbs-White is one of the most in-form players in the Premier League right now, with five goals and one assist in his last three outings for Forest.
The England playmaker was close to joining Tottenham last summer before signing a new deal at the City Ground, and he is being linked with a move away ahead of the next window despite that contract extension.
Sources have exclusively told Football Insider that Man United could sign Gibbs-White if the Reds are open to a sale this summer.
He is happy at Forest and would stay if they remain in the top flight, but the Red Devils may make an offer that they find too good to refuse.
