Man United are hoping to clear up to £60million from their wage bill this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Red Devils are expected to have a small summer budget after coming close to the limit of Profit and Sustainability Rules.

However, INEOS are planning to stage a major clear out of Erik ten Hag’s squad after an underwhelming campaign under the Dutchman.

As reported by Sky Sports, only Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are off limits during the transfer window.

United are hoping to raise significant funds from sales to reinvest in their squad while simultaneously lowering their wage bill.

Man United target £60m cuts in summer window

The Manchester giants revealed that their wage bill was slashed to £331million in their latest 2022/23 accounts - just 51 percent of their £649million revenue.

United are set to release Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton as free agents at the end of the season with the French duo in particular earning big wages at Old Trafford.

INEOS are keen to keep United’s wage bill under control to put the club in a strong position to invest when new financial regulations are introduced in 2025-26.

New Premier League rules will cap clubs to spending 85 percent of their overall revenue on player wages, transfers and agent fees.
