Man United’s three-man signing plan revealed as midfielder and left-back deals lined up
Manchester United will target moves for a new centre-midfielder, a left-back and a left-winger as top priority this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Michael Carrick looks set to guide the Red Devils back into the Champions League for next term, and they are keen to try and build a squad that is capable of competing with Europe’s elite.
The Old Trafford recruitment team are currently exploring options to strengthen the group in all areas, but sources say that left-sided reinforcements are one of their main areas of priority.
They currently feel that they are lacking quality cover for Luke Shaw on the left side of the defence, while Carrick is lacking a natural left-winger to call upon.
United are in for a busy summer of business as they prepare a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2023-24, and they are keen to ensure that they have all bases covered in their squad.

Casemiro has been resurgent for Manchester United this season, and he notched his ninth Premier League goal of the season when he struck the opener in Monday’s 2-1 win over Brentford.
The Brazilian has faced plenty of criticism since moving to Old Trafford, but he has become a key figure for the team this term, prompting many supporters to call for his contract to be extended.

However, United have already decided against triggering their option to extend the veteran’s stay by a further year, meaning that he will leave as a free agent this summer as a result.
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that United will not change their minds on Casemiro regardless of how he performs in the coming weeks.
The player himself is already being heavily linked with a move to MLS side Inter Miami, with the Red Devils now left trying to find a replacement for a star who has been one of their brightest this term.
A central midfielder is part of the club’s priority three-point plan for the summer window, and they will want a player with a strong pedigree behind him to step into the shoes of the former Real Madrid man.
Mika Godts to be Red Devils’ left-wing solution
Football Insider revealed earlier this week that United are keeping tabs on Ajax sensation Mika Godts, with a view to making a move for him this summer.
The 20-year-old wideman has also been linked with Newcastle in recent weeks, but he is now firmly on the radar at Old Trafford, and fits the bill in terms of the style of forward that they would like to sign.
The starlet has notched 27 goal involvements cutting in off the left flank in the Eredivisie this season, where his tally of 16 goals is bettered only by Feyenoord’s Ayase Ueda.
Godts has already established himself as a future superstar during his breakthrough season this term, and he could be ready to take the next steps of his development with United.
The Belgian would likely cost a pretty penny if he were to move to the Premier League this summer, but he would certainly meet one of United’s key requirements.
