Manchester City player ratings vs Burnley: Rayan Cherki runs the show, Antoine Semenyo wasteful
Manchester City replaced Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Erling Haaland, unsurprisingly, was the one to open the scoring on Wednesday, 22 April, finishing off a smart through-ball from Jeremy Doku in the fifth minute, which was enough for all three points.
It was also a result which confirmed the Clarets’ relegation back down to the Championship, with Scott Parker’s side unable to show enough fight to earn anything from the clash.
Man City have moved above Arsenal on goal scored, and attention now turns to facing Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, 25 April.

The only thing that Rayan Cherki didn’t do was add to his goal contributions for the season, with the Frenchman creating countless chances in the final third.
Despite his efforts, the Citizens simply couldn’t capitalise to increase the goal difference gap on the Gunners, with Haaland’s goal in the fifth minute making all the difference on the night.

He was simply untouchable against the Clarets, and the opponents just didn’t know how to live with him. Too bad that his teammates couldn’t make the most of his creativity.
Antoine Semenyo disappoints in the final third
Compared to the standards that he has set since his arrival in January, Antoine Semenyo will be disappointed by his performance at Turf Moor, wasting chances to put City out of sight.
Pep Guardiola clearly felt the same, with the winger only lasting 65 minutes before the fresh legs of Savinho were introduced. It’s now just two goal contributions in his last eight games.
