Manchester City are poised to hold talks with teenager Jadon Sancho on Wednesday, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claims that the club are keen to find a solution to the 17-year-old’s future at the club after he turned down a professional contract worth £30,000 earlier this summer.
The newspaper reports that the winger was less from happy after being omitted from the pre-season tour with the first-team to the United States this summer.
The report claims that the youngster has refused to train with the City Academy for more than a month as he is desperate to secure a move away from the Etihad Stadium in search of more regular football.
This follows up from a recent ESPN report which claimed that Sancho is keen on joining Premier League rivals Tottenham this summer.
Chelsea and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in snapping up the teenager alongside Bundesliga sides Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
It is said that La Liga giants Barcelona also made an enquiry for Sancho earlier this summer.
The teenager currently has one year remaining on his scholarship contract in Manchester.
Football Insider verdict
The fact that City are set for discussions with the youngster shows that they believe that he is one to look out for in the future. Sancho should be praised for looking to become a first-team regular however his behaviour has been appalling at such a young age. With Barcelona and Dortmund in the running to sign him, Spurs face a challenge with the report claiming that European sides would only need to cough up around £190,000. It has been reported that the North London side would have to pay around £4million in compensation to sign Sancho. The good sign is that the player appears to favour a move to North London but Spurs will have to act quickly to sign him before the window shuts on Thursday.
In other Tottenham transfer news, this international player drops hint on Twitter that he is set to complete a move to the North London club.
