Jack Grealish has his sights set on a permanent move to Everton next summer when his Man City contract expires, sources have told Football Insider.

Grealish has no future at the Etihad after being allowed to join Everton on loan once again this summer.

He pushed to join the Toffees for a second time towards the end of the window despite interest from Sunderland and Aston Villa.

The 31-year-old's career will be at a crossroads again next June when he becomes a free agent upon the expiry of his City contract.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Grealish is keen to prove to Everton's board that they should sign him permanently ahead of next season.

They will be open to completing a free transfer if he impresses this season, with David Moyes also a keen admirer of his talents.

Grealish won the hearts of Everton fans in the first half of last season before a serious foot injury cut his campaign short in January.

The City loanee could become a key player under Moyes once more this term, but will need to prove his fitness and quality to earn a permanent move.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "If he performs well for Everton, obviously the fans love him, David Moyes is a big admirer as well, and so if they can pick up Grealish on a free transfer next summer permanently, it would be a smart pickup for them…

"Grealish is enjoying his time at Everton. It seems like he's got a real fondness for the club, and ideally he would like to make that a permanent move if possible. There's still a lot to happen, but if he performs to a high level for Everton, I'm sure there will be willingness from all parties to try and make it a more long-term situation."
