Man City could hijack Iliman Ndiaye deal in stunning twist - City expert

Manchester City would be interested in igniting a move for Everton star Iliman Ndiaye as a replacement for Savinho this summer.

That is according to former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Brazilian winger looks set to join Tottenham Hotspur before the new season starts.

Rumours have circle for quite some time about the 22-year-old's future at the Etihad Stadium, but it would appear a move to North London has stalled.

Once it is completed, though, Enzo Maresca could turn his attention to the Toffees' No.10, who is being strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Al Hilal are understood to be pushing for the Senegal international's signature, but even the player's father has hit out at the recent reports.

The 26-year-old has spoken out about his desire to play Champions League football, and the Citizens would certainly be able to offer that this season.

Man City 'like' Everton's Iliman Ndiaye

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson has tipped Man City to make a move for Ndiaye once Savinho's sale goes through this summer.

"I do think that the other teams would be interested. Man City, in particular, like the player," he said.

"And if City were to sell Savinho, maybe they would be interested in him. Savinho does look like he will eventually go to Spurs.

"If they could get a bidding war going, £70m these days is not enormous, is it? And some people would say, 'Well, [Crysencio] Summerville went for, let's say £55m plus add-ons'.

"So £70m would be above that. On any of these deals, you need a bit of competitive tension to get the best price. They need a couple of teams that are pushing the price up."

Who could David Moyes sign to replace Ndiaye?

Should the Toffees be able to sell Ndiaye for £70m or more, signing a replacement should be no trouble in the current market.

Of course, David Moyes could put his trust in Tyrique George or Tyler Dibling, but both are very young and inexperienced, which could backfire completely.

Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Bologna's Jonathan Rowe, formerly of Norwich City, is being viewed as a potential replacement.

The Toffees will also want to get a deal for Man City's Jack Grealish across the line, but that could be made more difficult due to UEFA's 45-day rule, if Ndiaye goes the other way.
