Man City fans will love what Bernardo Silva did to Martin Odegaard in Norway vs Portugal

Bernardo Silva left Manchester City as a free agent during the summer, but he clearly still remembers some of his old rivals.

The 32-year-old came on as a late substitute in Portugal's win over Norway on Sunday, 27 September, but he needed just six minutes to get booked.

Erling Haaland was on the scoresheet, unsurprisingly, but it was Jorge Jesus' side that came away with the slender win, one that they held onto in the final moments.

It was clear that Bernardo had been sent onto the pitch to waste some time and disrupt Norway's attack, and that's exactly what he did.

He was joined in the referee's notebook by former club teammate Ruben Dias, who had scythed a player down in added time.

Bernardo quickly joined him, and it was Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard who was on the wrong side of his late challenge at the Ullevaal Stadium.

Four minutes into the six minutes of added time, the former Man City star swiped Odegaard's feet from underneath him just outside the Norway penalty area.

For the remainder of the game, the two continued to confront each other, with the Gunners captain hobbling after being caught very late.

Of course, the last thing that Odegaard would want after the 2025-26 campaign is another serious injury, and Bernardo may have just caused one.

While Odegaard was optimstic that it was nothing more than a hit on the ankle, and that he'd be fine to return to action after the international break.

With Man City sitting top of the Premier League and three points ahead of Arsenal, though, rival fans will be keeping an eye on the in-form midfielder's potential injury.
