Antoine Semenyo could be set to cause a big problem for Manchester City as his poor form continues.

There were big hopes for the attacker when he arrived at the Etihad in the winter window, but after a good start, he has begun to struggle.

Before the international break, he went five straight matches without a goal contribution, and there was a hope that he could return to form with Ghana.

However, the 26-year-old’s international break has been abysmal, with Semenyo struggling to make any sort of impact for his country.

Below, Football Insider has explored how this could impact Man City’s remaining matches.

Antoine Semenyo continues to underperform

While away with Ghana, Semenyo has been awful.

After a 5-1 thrashing against Austria, the winger followed this defeat with a lacklustre display, where he only completed 72 per cent of his passes, just one shot, three touches in the opposition box, and was even dispossessed once.

For someone who is meant to be Ghana’s main man, it was a concerning performance, especially for a player so out of form.

However, Pep Guardiola and Man City will be horrified. The addition of the attacker was meant to give the club an edge in the title race as well as the FA Cup.

Yet, if Semenyo cannot return to form, there is a good chance they will not win either competition.

Therefore, City have a massive problem, and Guardiola is running out of time to fix it.

Will Semenyo transfer ensure Phil Foden departure?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Foden may move abroad in the summer if his contract situation cannot be solved.

The England international is set to enter the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium this summer, but he and the club hierarchy have been unable to reach an agreement regarding a new deal so far.

This has collided in a reduced role at Man City since Semenyo’s arrival, with the attacker now often starting on the bench.

However, it remains to be seen if the Manchester club would be willing to part with the legend so quickly, especially if Guardiola decides to also move on in the summer.
