Omar Marmoush will have no shortage of potential suitors as the Manchester City star struggles to escape Erling Haaland's shadow.

While the Citizens have no desire to let the Egyptian leave in the summer, Football Insider understands that Marmoush could push for a move due to his lack of minutes under Pep Guardiola.

The 27-year-old has only started one of the last four games since scoring a brace against Newcastle United in the FA Cup, not even making it off the bench in the Carabao Cup final win over Arsenal.

Man City's transfer plans are not totally clear ahead of the summer window, with several players being linked with exits, but Guardiola may have no choice but to let Marmoush leave already.

Omar Marmoush shines on international duty for Egypt

Marmoush proved against Newcastle just how talented he is, poking home his first from inside the six-yard box before unleashing his second from just outside the penalty area.

However, the centre-forward went one step further during Egypt's 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia on Friday, 27 March, firing off a powerful shot from the best part of 35 yards, which squeezed past the goalkeeper.

He had been relatively uninvolved up until that point, but as Man City supporters have found out, he only needs a sniff of a chance to hit the back of the net.

Tottenham had been linked with the 27-year-old previously, and if they are to avoid Premier League relegation this season, it would not be a surprise to see them return for his signature.

Pep Guardiola has struggled to use the Man City superstar

However, Spurs are likely to face heavy competition for the striker. Guardiola struggles to find room in his starting lineup for the Egyptian, but it is clear to everyone just how talented he is.

Marmoush has started just seven Premier League games this term, but were he to move elsewhere, even across Europe, he would undoubtedly be a starter at that club.

It's a tough situation for all parties. Unless Haaland picks up an injury, it is difficult to see Marmoush given proper minutes at the Etihad Stadium, so nobody would blame him for seeking an exit.

Sadly, suitors are only going to come in their numbers more following his goal on the international stage, and Man City will struggle to keep him if valuable minutes are offered to him this summer.
